2022
A piece made in collaboration with Cristine Blanco, my co-recipient of the Kala Print Public Artist Residency.
This project was envisioned as a way to engage the San Pablo community around gardening and growing food - outdoor activities that can be done safely during the COVID-19 pandemic and by people of all ages - through an interactive treasure map.
The mural and prints combine the vegetables and herbs shared with plants growing naturally along San
Pablo Avenue. The paper was made with found and recycled art materials and embedded with lettuce seeds.
One print was planted in a custom-made terracotta pot viewable at the show.
Viewers were invited to take a print.
