We fill our lives and our carts with plastic bags to “protect” our food - from ourselves? from real or perceived danger from others? from dirt? This plastic lives on, polluting the land and oceans, as well as our bodies, and we, in American society, hesitate to take the necessary measures to address the causes, instead leaving the mess for our children to clean up.
